BERJAYA Corp Bhd said its unit, Berjaya Digital Sdn Bhd, has received a licence from the Education Ministry to set up an international boarding school in Berjaya Hills, Pahang. Berjaya Hills International School (BHIS) will be located on a 21ha piece of land. It will offer the International General Certificate of Secondary Education Curriculum to students from year 7 to 13 including the 'A' Levels. In addition, the school will also offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB Dip.) as an alternative pre-university programme. Berjaya Corp will fund the project through borrowings and shareholders funds. It did not say how much was needed. Construction is expected to start this year and take about 18 months to complete.
