Sports Toto Fitness Centre, an RM3.8 million ultramodern and state-of-the-art fitness facility, is now open to Berjaya Group staff.

Located at Level 6 of Berjaya Times Square, the 1486sq metre gym is Berjaya's corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative to provide a fitness centre so that its staff can lead healthy lifestyles.

Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Wira Chor Chee Heung opened the fitness centre recently.

He was accompanied by Berjaya Corporation Berhad chairman and chief executive officer Tan Sri Vincent Tan, its executive director Chan Kien Sing and Berjaya Sports Toto Berhad's chief executive officer Datuk Robin Tan.
Tan, who exercises regularly, said by providing a conducive work environment, the organisation will encourage higher productivity and job satisfaction and give employees a sense of work-life balance and fulfillment.

"Staff welfare has been accorded high priority in Berjaya. We are constantly striving to improve the quality of life in the workplace by focusing on our employees' wellbeing and career development through health talks, free health screenings, as well as training and development programmes on a regular basis."

The fitness centre has 34 cardiovascular machines which included treadmills, steppers, stationary bikes, cross trainers and rower machines. It is big enough for 300 members to use at any one time.

It also has a complete and spacious free weights area, an in-house entertainment system with up to 12 entertainment channels on the cardio machines, sauna and steam rooms as well as three sizeable group exercise studios -- the body and mind yoga zen studio, the multi-function viva studio and the ultra sleek spin studio, each able to accommodate up to 30 people per class.

Certified professional trainers are on hand to provide training and guidance to the members.

Berjaya employees pay a minimal fee between RM25 and RM50 each month for unlimited use of the facilities.

From next month, the gym will be open to the public at a RM150 monthly fee each.

The centre is open from 7am to 10pm from Monday to Friday, 8am to 8pm on Saturday and Sunday and 10am to 8pm on public holidays.

The fitness centre is equipped with ultramodern facilities.
